Raise calculator: runway and raise size from your burn

Enter your cash and your monthly burn. You get the smallest raise that funds your next milestones and the months it takes to raise again, and how long the amount you plan to raise lasts.

The arithmetic runs in this page. Nothing you enter is stored or sent. If you choose to carry the result into a request, it travels only in this browser tab.

Using rupees or euros? The arithmetic is the same; read $ as your currency.

In $, at least 0. You can type 50,000, $50,000, 50k or 1.2m.

Money out minus money in, per month.

The same measure, with every planned hire on the payroll.

A whole number from 1 to 60.

Time the next raise takes, so you don't run out halfway through it. A whole number from 0 to 24.

Leave it blank to see runway on today's cash alone.

How the result is worked out

Average monthly burn A = (B0 + B1) ÷ 2. Months to fund T = M + F. Raise = A × T − C, rounded up to the next $25,000; if 0 or less, $0. Runway = (C + P) ÷ A, rounded down to whole months. Spare or short = Runway − T.

A straight-line average: if you hire early, real burn runs higher. Revenue counts only through net burn. This is arithmetic on your inputs, not a forecast.

A worked example, in round numbers

No cash in the bank, burn of $15,000 a month today and $45,000 once the team is hired, 18 months to the milestones and 6 months to raise again. A is $30,000 and T is 24 months. A × T is $720,000, so the raise is at least $725,000. With $500,000 raised, runway is 16 months: 8 months short of the 24.
