Investor Readiness Score

Twelve questions about your deck and your model, about five minutes. You get a score out of 100 and a slide-by-slide list of what to fix first.

The score is worked out in this page. Nothing you answer is stored or sent. If you choose to carry your score into a request, it travels only in this browser tab.

How the score works: each question carries the points shown next to it, 100 in total. Yes earns all of them, Partly earns half, No or not sure earns none. 'Not sure' counts as No, because an investor will treat it that way. Questions about your numbers carry 54 points, because that is where seed meetings get hard; the deck and round questions carry 46. The score counts what your materials contain. It doesn't predict whether you'll raise, and it isn't compared with anyone else's.

Your numbers 54 points

1. Tie-out, 12 points Do the figures in your deck (revenue, costs, team size, the raise) match your model exactly?

Slide: Financials, and every slide with a number

Fix: List every number in the deck, find its cell in the model, and correct whichever side is wrong.

2. Revenue build, 10 points Is revenue built from customers (or units) times price, not from a growth rate typed in?

Slide: Financials

Fix: Rebuild revenue as customers × price × 12, with customer counts driven by a sales plan you can explain.

3. Runway, 10 points Can you say, from your model, how many months this raise lasts?

Slide: The ask

Fix: Divide cash plus the raise by average monthly net burn, and put the months on the ask slide. The raise calculator does the arithmetic.

4. Headcount, 8 points Does every hire on your team or hiring slide appear in your costs, with a salary and a start month?

Slide: Team, Financials

Fix: Add a hiring plan: role, start month, salary and on-costs, linked to operating costs.

5. Unit economics, 8 points Can you say what a customer costs to win and how many months they take to pay that back, or say plainly that you don't know yet?

Slide: Business model

Fix: Show acquisition cost and payback in months, or one line on how you'll measure both in the next 90 days.

6. Assumptions, 6 points Are all your assumptions on one tab, so changing one updates every statement?

Slide: Model file

Fix: Move every typed input to one assumptions tab and replace typed-over cells with formulas.

Your deck and round 46 points

7. Ask up front, 8 points Do your first three slides say how much you're raising and what it gets you to?

Slide: Slide 2

Fix: Put the amount, the runway in months and three milestones on slide 2.

8. Use of funds, 8 points Does your use of funds split the raise into 3 to 5 lines, each tied to a milestone for the next round?

Slide: Use of funds

Fix: Replace category percentages with lines that name what the money buys and what it proves.

9. Market, 8 points Is your market size counted bottom-up (reachable customers × price × 12), not only a top-down industry figure?

Slide: Market

Fix: Count reachable customers, multiply by your price and 12, and name the source of each count.

10. Traction, 8 points Does your traction slide show dated numbers (users, revenue, pilots, signed letters), or say plainly that you're pre-traction?

Slide: Traction

Fix: Date every number and say what it measures. No traction yet? Show the evidence of demand you do have.

11. Length, 8 points Is the deck 10 to 15 main slides, readable as a PDF without you there to present it?

Slide: Whole deck

Fix: Cut to 15 main slides, move detail to an appendix, and give each slide a headline that states its point.

12. Team, 6 points Does your team slide say why this team can win, with one relevant fact per person?

Slide: Team

Fix: Replace job titles with one fact per person that matters to this business.
